Restaurants in Naples

I’d like to take my husband to a nice Italian restaurant or steakhouse in Naples, Italy, that is open on Mondays. I would -ideally- spend about $100 Euros for both. I’d really appreciate recommendations.

There are a lot of wonderful restaurants in Naples, but don't limit yourself to a "nice Italian restaurant" or a "steakhouse."

Check out choices in RS's book or in the Lonely Planet guidebooks. Go for authentic rather than "nice" and enjoy the chaos and the Italian experience that are the essence of Naples. A local guide to restaurants will be a great asset: https://www.likealocalguide.com/naples/eating

Especially in the Centro Storico, it can feel intimidating to walk into a small place with minimal English language choices. With that said, we dined ferociously and well by making a list of places we wanted to try and then seeking them out. I made a pilgrimage across town to Mergellina to dine at 50 Kalo for lunch, and we were not disappointed that our "pizza" choice was not Michele's or Starita, but rather was with an up and coming new face. You can spend a lot of money for food, but to me, the challenge is eating well in places where the population goes to dine, rather than where money is no object. Our most expensive dinner, with wine, was 50 euros--totally authentic and delicious.

Look at Theculturetrip.com article on the top restaurants in Napoli. Sorry I don’t know how to send the link.

Hi Claudia, and welcome to the forum.

We've eaten at Restaurante Bellini, located a few blocks from the Archeological Museum, 6-8 times in the past 15 years.

My fritst recommendation is to Not sit outside, but rather upstairs in their dining room. Every meal we've had here has been very good. While you'll find some reviews not liking the food, comparisons I think are being made to our "Americanized" versions. This is true Naples cuisine.

The staff have always been welcoming, and sometimes their antics have been hilarious.

You'll find few English speakers here.

Edit. It's open on mondays.
