Restaurants in early August

We are staying in Lucca the first week of August for 6 nights, taking nearby day trips. Should we expect a lot of eating establishments to be closed because many Italians are away on summer holiday?

Also, can you recommend a good app to find restaurants?
Please advise, thanks.

No matter where we are, I frequently use Google Maps to find restaurants, look at reviews, and check hours. In tourist areas (Lucca is certainly one!), restaurants want to be open during high season. I would not worry. August closures happen in places like Roman neighborhoods outside the tourist center,

Thank you. I probably should have clarified. We are interested in eating food in non-tourist areas, off the beaten path. I guess we will just have to take our chances, that some establishments will not be open.

There are always some open in every neighborhood. If you can tell me which area I may be able to help. For example, in Parioli where we lived, Taverna Rossini is open all summer. (At least they were when we lived there 2012-2016!) We also enjoyed several restaurants along Viale Liegi near Piazza Buenos Aires and into the Trieste neighborhood. We could walk to them from home, but you'd probably need a bus, tram, or taxi.

Elizabeth Minchilli is a reliable source, IMO.

Editing to say I guess you aren't going to Rome. Lucca is tiny. You won't find many places -- if any -- where there are not tourists dining.

We will be in Rome for 3 nights, staying in the Spagna area. Any food recommendations are also appreciated in that area as well, thanks!
