Restaurants in Bellagio

My husband & I will be staying at Borgo Le Terrazze in Bellagio. We would love to have some restaurant recommendations and the best way to see the beautiful "Lakes" district. We will be in the area for 3 nights & 4 days. We will have a car but aren't sure how the parking situation is in the small towns.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

The Ferry is a great way to see the lakes. There is a midlake ferry for Varenna, Belliago and some of towns across the lake like Menaggio. You can reach the town of Como itself on the ferry or driving. Some ferries are car ferries but I'm not sure about parking in the towns. I'll defer that to others.

In Bellagio we stopped at Enoteca Cava Turacciolo from Rick's book for a wine tasting. We had a nice meat and cheese tray with the tasting in a old vautled stone room. Stop by there when you are in town.

Ristorante la Vista at the Albergo Milano in Varenna was great. They have outdoor seats with a amazing lake view. One of my favorite meals was there. We had Wild Deer Carpaccio, Garganelli pasta with Rabbit Ragu, Lamb Skank with potatoes au gratin, cheese and pear bread.

Hi Robert,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. If I may ask, where did you stay on your visit? We are staying at Borgo Le Terrazze at the recommendation of Trip Advisor.

What areas near Bellagio did you visit? Did you go via Ferry or attempt to driver there. We are driving in from Verona but not sure we want to use the car very much to tour around. Parking & Italian drivers can be a challenge. :)

Thanks again.

We really liked the restaurant called "Quattro Pass'" in Varenna, very near the
Albergo Milano. We did NOT like the restaurant that was in the Albergo Milano.

We stayed at Albergo Bernini in Varenna. We didn't have a car and chose Varenna since it was easier with the train station there. Where as Bellagio we would have had to take a ferry to get to the station and hope the timing worked out.

Looking back at my notes we also ate the next night at Quattro Pass. Had a nice wine risotto there.

DiDi,

We stayed at Borgo Le Terrazze for five nights last year. It was absolute heaven. You will love it. They have a shuttle that will take you to Bellagio if you don't want to drive into town. The hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant, but they do have charcuterie and cheese plates, as well as other seasonal selections for snacks. They also have wine there for reasonable prices to purchase. We stayed in a couple of nights and this was more than adequate for dinners.

Agree with others that the ferry is the best way to see the lake. :)
