We will be spending our 1st wedding anniversary in Montepulciano and would like to go to a nice restaurant to celebrate. Do you have any suggestions for restaurants nearby? Thank you.

I'll give contrary advice. Even though Montepulciano is not real big, it can still be a pain to spend what may be a large amount of your Italy time looking around a town you're not familiar with, trying to find a specific restaurant somebody has recommended.
They're almost all good. My advice is to get a recommendation and directions from a local once you get there.

Julia - do you already have a place to stay in Montepulciano? If so, what about emailing them and asking for their suggestion? On our trip last year to Pienza we had GREAT recommendations from our B&B host. We also emailed our host in Lucca before we arrived and asked that they make a reservation for us so that we could meet friends. It was nice to get a local rec.
