restaurant suggestions

Another couple are going to Italy with my husband and I. We will be staying in Cinque Terre area at the Villa Margherita in Levanto. We arrive on June 6 which is our friends' wedding anniversary. We would like to dine at a nice restaurant preferrably on the water or near the water. We like nice, but comfortable and friendly. We are looking for something near our villa. Any suggestions?

Linda, I'm not too familiar with the restaurants in Levanto, but you might also consider having dinner in Monterosso. It's only about five minutes by train from Levanto, so it's a very easy trip. The criteria of "nice, but comfortable and friendly" is a bit subjective, but if you'd like to celebrate the special occasion in Monterosso, here are a few suggestions: > Ristorante Miky - somewhat on the posh side, but it would be a fantastic place to celebrate an anniversary. Not far from the station in the "new town" area. > Cantina di Miky - a very short walk from the train station, towards the "old town". They provide both an outdoor patio overlooking the water as well as indoor seating. The outdoor patio can be a bit "crowded" but the tight quarters are kind of fun. The co-owner is a lovely young lady from New Jersey. > Ristorante Belvedere - in the "old town" area through the tunnel (it's an easy walk from the station). They have seating that overlooks the fishing boats and the water. One of their specialties is a mixed seafood assortment that's baked in a large earthenware pot (Anfora). It seemed to be very popular with many visitors when I was there in September. One point to mention - the rail tracks go over the restaurant so don't be alarmed at the "rumbling sound" every so often. You can check the reviews of the restaurants on Trip Advisor or other review sites. Check their websites to see which day of the week they close (if any). Happy travels!
