Restaurant splurge in Milan

After having spent a month traveling in Italy this coming June, we will finish our trip in Milan. Being a huge "foodie", I would love to have our last dinner in Italy be something memorable. We are going to be staying at Hotel Garda, however, dining near our hotel is not a requirement. Any suggestions??

Don't know what your budget is or what you consider "foodie", but we followed RS's suggestion for Convivium - at Via Ponte Vetero 21 across from Santa Maria del Carmine. Closer to Sforza Castle. We asked the waiter/wine steward about a specific wine, i.e. vintage and type. Two people along with my husband consulted on what we should try. Brought it down from their "wall of wine" with much Italian and not much English. Altogether a wonderful experience.

Also ate twice at Da Rita e Antiono - great neighborhood restaurant. Not special occasion, but the second time we went there, our waiter remembered our visit from two weeks before, along with what we ordered.

I'm sure others will have great recommendations, but we've eaten at some great restaurants in the US. Prefer a memorable experience in other countries.

Happy travels, and bon appetite!

A short walk from your hotel is Ristorante Settembrini 18 at via Settembrini 18. Not very expensive but great food and attentive service.
