My husband and I will be going to Florence in a few weeks. Some restaurants have been recommended to us. Should we make a reservation now or wait until a week before? Day before? Thanks in advance. Any restaurant recommendations welcome, too.

Unless there is something going on that puts a lot of pressure on the restaurants, we generally make our reservations the day of -- around noon -- or the day before. Often we will walk by the restaurant earlier to see where it is and to make sure we can find it. Generally just make the reservation in person at that time. Our experience is that reservation are expect more so than in the US.
