Would appreciate recommendations for restaurants with outdoor seating in mainland Italy towns of Varenna, Milan, and Positano, along with Sicily towns of Palermo, Malfa (on Salina Island), Taormina and Ortigia.
I used to spend time researching restaurants and places to eat. Never did eat at a single one. Either the menu was unappetizing or the prices were excessive.
We now ask our hotel front desk clerks where they suggest to eat in close proximity to where we're staying. And we often roll with the flow.
Ortigia-
Regina Lucia
Locanda de Collegio
Taormina-
Nettuno
I second Locanda de Collegio in Ortigia. We ate there twice. Don’t know if they have outdoor seating now? Siracusa- lunch at the market- Caseificio Borderi. The best sandwiches & a wonderful open market.
Taormina- Da Cristina The best Arancini we had in Sicily. We went there for a casual light dinner. They have outdoor seating. We were on a culinary tour of Sicily & our guide took us there.
