I would love recommendations of restaurants in Sorrento and Rome where locals go to eat.
The Trestavere neighborhood of Rome- across the river from the primary classical sites- is a both a lovely place to stay and dine-- it's chockablock with bars and restaurants- all of them seemingly busy. Osteria La Gensola offers terrific seafood.
The locals eat is nearly all of the restaurants. You would have to be far off the beaten path to find a locals only restaurant in Sorrento and Rome --- big metro areas. And don't fall for the "if the menu is in English it is bad..." Ask your hotel.
