Would appreciate restaurant recommendations for Positano, Palermo, Malfa (on Salina Island), Taormina and Siracusa (preferably on Ortigia).

Taormina- Ristorante Nettuno- seafood
Ortigia-
Locanda del Collegio- terrific seafood. Excellent pizzas, nice vibe.
Regina Lucia- more upscale but friendly vibe. Wonderful dining experiences both times we ate there.
Bad experience at a Ristorante with Don in it’s name. Treated badly, food ordinary, so Do NOT eat there.

Enjoyed a nice lunch in Positano after our Path of the Gods hike at Mediterraneo. Service was great, food was pretty good, and the art on one of the walls was... interesting. : )

For a really fun evening, check out Il Pirata near Praiano. It's a destination dining experience, right on the water, with a little cave bar and a very nice restaurant, all at the bottom of some steep stairs. We were staying in Amalfi, and they arranged for a car to pick us up and drop us off at the Hotel Santa Caterina, a relatively short walk to and from our apartment. They may also offer a boat-taxi, so ask.

If you find yourself in Amalfi, Lido Azzurro, right on the harbor, has the best fish in lemon sauce I have ever had.

And around the point from Amalfi in Atrani, Le Arcate is another place right on the water with good seafood and great pizza!

If you plan to go to any of those places around Amalfi, I'd suggest making reservations.

For cocktails before dinner, go to Franco’s. It’s a small, outdoor ritzy little bar with the iconic Positano views. Get there when it opens as the seats fill up quickly.

In Positano we enjoyed dinner at Adam ed Eva on an upper terrace at the Eden Roc Hotel on Via Guglielmo Marconi. The food was excellent and the views were wonderful, especially at sunset and with the twinkling lights on the mountainside in the evening. Reservations are recommended. Ask for a table with a view.

In Palermo, we enjoyed Osteria Al Ferro di Cavallo. It's a lively place, compact menu with some good options, changes wit the seasons some. If you are the type that expects to be pampered though or are particular, go elsewhere. Menu is only in Italian (maybe Sicilian), when busy, service is brusque, and the tally of the bill at the end by the owner is an experience in itself. For pizza, the place to go is Pizzeria Frida, a bit of a modern take, different crusts and styles to choose from, lots of toppings, a change when you crave something more than a bare bones Neapolitan.

On Ortigia, we ate at a couple places we enjoyed, Trattoria La Foglia we enjoyed enough we ate there a couple times, interesting décor, great food. Osteria la Gazza Ladra is a small family run place, not many tables, good food, homestyle service. Also, even though it has now become cliché, and the old guy has to be giving it up some day, getting a sandwich from Caseificio Borderi in the market, turned out to be a worthwhile experience, and the sandwich was terrific. You can find lots of Youtubes to prepare yourself, and determine if it is worth the wait, here is one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taRjYrA1EI4 The place next door, Fratelli Burgio is also a nice lunch spot, a salumeria, you can get a wine and a nice cheese and meat board.
