Does anyone have any authentic and less touristy restaurant recommendations for Venice??
Thanks!
Try Ristorante Archi Dorati, on Strada Nova, Cannaregio 3885. To die for. Literally.
Tried looking for this restaurant online, no luck
Love to review it since I will be in Venice soon
I can guarantee that as soon as any "less touristy" or "hidden gem" is mentioned here they will no longer be less touristy or hidden ;-)
Get off the vaporetto at the Ca' Rezzonico stop (just before the Accademia) and walk straight (!) down the street to Campo San Barnaba. The little streets around the campo are full of retaurants. We found them simple but tasty, and though they had tourists and coped with English there were may locals there too. Campo Santa Margherita nearby also has a lot of simple restaurants.
Try doing a search over at the Italy forum of the Slow Travel website. All the foodies hang out there and believe me, that have Venice well scoped out, food-wise.
Roberto is making a joke. Archi Dorati means "Golden Arches." He's suggesting you eat at a McDonalds. My suggestion is Paradiso Perduto in Cannaregio. Very popular with the locals.
