Restaurant recommendations for Venice

Hello, we will be staying in Venice next month for a few days. I was hoping to get some recommendations for restaurants in Venice and near our Hotel. We are staying at the Excelsior Resort but will be taking the water taxi into Venice near St. Mark's square. We will be in Venice from April 18 through the 21st. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

We usually avoid canal side places in Venice as they are usually overpriced and under quality. There is an exception, however. You might try Trattoria Da Giorgia ai Greci. It is on a back street close to San Marco, but an easy walk to get away from the crowds. The food is really great.

Another of our favorites is in the Rialto Bridge area. The name is Trattoria Da Marco Valla Fava on Calle Stagneri. Most of the seating is inside, but they do have some seating outside. They have some of the best sea food ever and have been around at least 50 years so they must be doing it right. You should be able to check out the locations and menus on Google.

We had three nights in Venice a few years ago and one of our favourite restaurants was Ristorante Riviera atd Fondamente Zattere.

We were lucky enough to be able to eat outside, even in October, and there was a lovely view over the Guidecca Canal. The food, wine and service were perfect.

It was one of our best memories in Italy, and I just checked Google, and the reviews are still as good as they were then.

Best meal I had in Venice was to go to train station to Trevino. Happened to find a Michelin restaurant run entirely by women. Everything was wonderful and not too expensive.

The night before in Venice it was not even a fancy place but it was such a horrible experience. They were really friendly as we sat down. Then the food came and it was crap. We could never even get their attention to get done water or whatever. They seem to lure tourists in then they got you with the cover charges etc.
