Particularly interested in red prawns, not raw. But really any great food for a last meal in Sicily before we head home.
You might check Ortigia Fish Bar, a lovely place. Trattoria la Pigna was also very highly recommended to us, as was Anchovies.
You will just have to check menus when you are there, depends on the season and availability whether you can get them. It probably is more common though to see them prepared as a tartar rather than grilled or steamed.
Hi, Giangilberto from Milan, one of my best friends has the family house in Ortigia, I use to visit them once a year and our favourite restaurant is Osteria da Pillucciu, since 1918, his family dine there almost every week, I really love it.
We were in Ortigia back in April and really enjoyed Pindaro Ristorante Bistrot, which also is in a nice spot by the water. We also had a lovely meal at Il Cortile di Archimede.
Try DON CAMILLO--pretty sure they will have the gamberi rosso. It's an old-school, very correct restaurant but you do not have to dress up...they do an excellent spaghetti with sea urchin as well...you could always call them to make sure they have the prawns.
