Restaurant near Monreale

Has anybody dined at La Botta 1962, near Monreale? We'll be in Palermo on RST Best of Sicily Tour in mid-October. I hear it's wonderful, but our free evening is on a Monday. Not sure it's open. Is it that good, and is it open then? Thanks for any info you have about this place!

If you go now just take a skewer and some meat and you can barbecue your own meal. The entire hill is on fire.

The restaurant's website says they're closed on Mondays, although it doesn't mention any special grilling event (playing off Roberto's humor). If you arrive a few days early for the tour as many people do, you might instead go one of those evenings. Because the restaurant is a fair distance from the usual tour hotels, you'll likely need to arrange taxi service both ways. No dress code is mentioned but it doesn't look to be typical-RS-tour-attire casual, so you may wish to clarify when you reserve.

Reviews on Trip Advisor are all from diners at group events. Palermo is filled with excellent restaurants without the need of a trip up and back to Monreale..
