Looking for one that is suitable for teenagers, and the adults with them.

Trattoria Luzzi - Via di San Giovanni in Laterano 88

We ate there a few years ago 3 times. Neighborhood place. Casual with pizza. Would probably work great for teenagers and the adults.

ok, this isn't all that close but for teenagers how about take them where the Roman teens go! Carlo Menta in Trastevere. Very good food, very crowded with locals. It seems to be, on weekends, where teens go for dinner before a night on the town.

We were there with our two kids in June and walked to the neighborhood just to the southeast and ate at one of the cafes. It was pretty good and no problem getting a table.

Looking at a map, I think it was on Via Ostilla. Just walk around and sit where you like the vibe and the menu.

On our first trip to Rome we stayed at Hotel Lancelot, close to the Colloseum. Mrs Kahn, the owner, recommended the Hostaria da Nerone to us. We went there and loved it. Friendly and very good food. There is inside and outside seating. We were there for a week and ate at this restaurant 3 times. On the first visit when the server/manager asked how the food was, I told him it was the best veal scaloppine I had ever eaten. He thanked me and promptly walked over to the owner who was sitting with a friend and told him what I said. The owner caught my eye and tipped his hat. On the second visit the owner came over and welcomed us back, with very little English. On the 3rd visit same trip the owner told the server manager to comp our wine. The server came over and welcomed us and said Veal for the lady and asked my husband what he would like. We all laughed. At the end of the meal I told them we were going home the next day but if possible I would like to buy one of their plates with the name and Logo on it. The answer was Yes and the plate is in my dining room on a plate stand.

There were some tourists there but there were also some Italians there especially if you ate a little later. We have been back there on 2 more trips!

Have a great trip
