This is the response I received from Trenord for my question regarding whether we would be affected by the strike on the 5th of October:
First of all, thank you for contacting us.
We inform you that, to date, we are not aware of any trade union agitations attested for October 5 that could involve our company.
We specify that, in the event of confirmation, it is in the precise interest of our company to minimize the repercussions on customers, in principle by providing information before the strike through the Trenord Application, the page dedicated to traffic and the "Notices" section of the Trenord website, subsequently with real-time updates on the same channels.
For regulatory details, please consult the https://www.trenord.it/assistenza/informazioni-utili/in-caso-di-sciopero/ page.
Trusting to have made it clearer, we are pleased to take this opportunity to greet you cordially.
I gave them the train #, (2824), date and departure and arrival station. I'll keep monitoring the situation, in the meantime we have reserved a car at Milan Central Station on that day which we can cancel 48 hrs before pick up. As of now, their Notices section doesn't say anything about a strike, but maybe that will change? I learned of this potential strike on this website.
