We are going to be going to Rome in a few weeks, and I know that it is mandatory to reserve a timed entry slot. But all of the web sites we go to are only taking us to guided tours starting at 50 Euros. The timed entry is supposed to be 2 Euros, and you are supposed to be able to go through without a tour. Audio guides are supposed to also be available. Anyone know what website to use? I have tried both the official website and what is in an older Rick Steves guidebook.
This is the official ticketing site for the museum:
https://www.tosc.it/en/artist/galleria-borghese/galleria-borghese-2253937/#calendar-start=2025-11
Full-price adult tickets are € 16.00 + € 2.00 service fee + € 2.00 pre-sale fee (€ 20.00 total). I've a feeling you've been ending up on one of the sites that are intentionally designed to look official but are not. Tours in English offered by the museum itself are € 48.00 (€ 26 for tour; € 18.00 for entry; €4 service fee.).
Audioguides: the website states that "Audio guides can be hired next to the Ticket Office. The cost of the audioguides is €5.00. The contents of the audio guides cover the permanent collection and works from the current temporary exhibition. The tracks dedicated to the latter are available in Italian, English and Chinese. Audio guides are in English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Ukrainian, the latter as part of a hosting project in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine."
Edited to add pre-sale fee and audioguide info from https://galleriaborghese.cultura.gov.it/en/. That is the official website for information, and provides a link to the official ticketing site I'd provided above. As acraven noted in the post below this one, the info site is, unfortunately, only 'up' for many of us in North America during the hours, Rome time, that the museum is open. The ticketing site is 'up' 24/7.
Most days in March and April seem to be sold out or nearly so, so look immediately for your dates.

The Borghese Gallery seems to be one of the Italian museums whose own website is only accessible during the hours the museum itself is open. That inaccessible website provides a ticket-buying link, but it's hard to find that information during the Gallery's closing period. It's really a dumb situation, because it results in many folks buying overpriced tickets from other websites.
The basic entry ticket for the Borghese Gallery is 18 euros. There may be a small ticketing fee on top of that; I didn't check.
Tickets including a tour conducted by gallery personnel are 26 euros.
I ended up booking a guided tour because the time slots that I wanted were all taken. It was €28 so €8 more than the regular ticket. I assumed - from previous experience - that once you've spent a few minutes with the group you can wander off on your own if the guide isn't interesting.
I booked my ticket for mid-April almost 2 months in advance.
Go the website that Kate references. I was just at the Borghese last week. I wouldn't have thought about going until I saw Rick's TV show on European art! Well worth it. I was grateful that I had found the official link on this DB via another thread a few months ago.
The March, April, May tickets went on sale in early Feb, so don't be surprised if many days and times are limited.
