Reservations Needed for These?

Hello all. Do we need to reserve tickets ahead of time for Florence's Palazzo Pitti, Bagello Museum, or Medici Chapels? This will be in Oct.

Thanks.

Hi Jan,
You might want to ck out purchasing the Friends of Uffizi pass. It covers all those locations (not quite sure of Bagello but definetly other two) and also Accademia and the Uffizi Gallery. It gets you into the sites and allows you to skip lines, with no reservations and for as many times as you'd like- though I'm not sure that would be as much of an issue in Oct.
It costs us 100 euros for a family of 4 and easily pd for itself. It allows you entrance to upwards of 15 different Florence museums (estimating here) and is good for a yr. Keep in mind you will need your original passport in Accademia as proof but a color copy will suffice at other locations. You will also still need to get a physical ticket by showing the pass.
I haven't seen it mentioned on this site too many times and don't recall seeing it in RS book. That's unfortunate because it was a great deal, especially if you are going to be in Florence for a little bit.
Kind of confusing to figure out how to get in from US. Send me a private message if you need to and I'd be happy to help!

We were there either the second week of November, 09. As a rule lines were very short. October may be a bit different.

That includes the Bagello, Medici Chapels, and Boboli Gardens (same line as the Pitti Palice.)

We had reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia. But could only get late morning admissions. The lines were so short we started asking if we could get in early, and usually did.

Our biggest problem was the Medici Chapels. They seemed to be closed a lot while we were there. But they were close to the hotel. So we kept passing by, and finally found them open.

Other people may have had very different experiences.

Have fun.

FWIW, "Bargello", not "Bagello". Watch out for the odd hours there. They close at 2 pm. It's not only a wonderful collection of statues, but the space itself is fascinating.

The Bargello is rarely (ever?) crowded. I went to the Pitti 2 years ago in mid-October and there was no one in line (about an hour after they opened). I thought the audio guide was very good - the only place to get it was at the ticket booth. When I went back to return the audio guide there were only 2-3 people in line.

I was surprised at how crowded the Medici Chapels were in February (while the Accademia was relatively deserted).
