Reservations for the Uffizi in Florence

I've been trying to get reservations online for the Uffizi but they've cancelled my order twice (after I gave all my credit card info). Is it strange that the format for the payment info is entirely in Italian and not through the btickets page?
Anyone else have this problem? I also noticed that when I called to make a reservation they also have a 4 euro service charge.

I think the easiest way is to call your hotel and ask them to make the reservation.

Just got my reservation by phone it was worth the wait and the long distance charges for the peace of mind. I forgot to ask if there was a service charge. Thanks, Frank, for the excellent suggestion about having our hotel book it... we still need to book our hotel! Regards, Ann

There is a service charge for reserving tickets whether you do it online or by phone. And, also if your hotel makes the reservation for you. When you pick up your ticket at the reserved ticket window, you will pay the service charge then along with the ticket price if you reserved over the phone. I think this is fair - there are thousands of people trying to get into the Uffizi every year - you will be surprised at how long the line up to buy tickets can be and the actual ticket cost is only 10 or 11 euro. That's less than it costs to get into the art gallery in my home town. There is a lot of overhead to running ticket reservations for this institution I'm sure.
