Reservations

We want to make reservations at two recommended hotels but they want us to email or fax them our credit card number. We don't feel either way is very safe. Which way is the best way to go? Have any of you had problems with either of these ways?

The risk is not high in either case but it is safer to send your cc number by email than fax. The one thing I do is use an inactive credit card that I use only for that purpose. If the card would be compromised, then I could easily cancel without impacting my other cards.

I beg to disagree; a fax is much safer than email for sending credit card info. Email is like a postcard anyone can read it. I always fax my info and never had a problem.
