Reservation needed for Venice Accademia?

Hi,

My husband and I are visiting Venice this August and plan to see the Accademia when we are there. I gathered from my research that reservations are not required for Accademia in Venice, but I am wondering if there is going to be long lines outside and we would be making a smart decision by making reservations now. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Raji.

Nope. Just walk right up to the ticket window. It's not crowded like the Academia in Florence. It's also close to the Peggy Guggenheim museum that you can also walk up to. Could be a short line there. We've done both. The art at the Venice Academia is more varied than Florence and you see a lot of art from the Venitian artists. It's quite nice. You'll see more of their art in the Doge's Palace.
