Reservation costs

How do I go about getting tickets and reservations for the Academia and Uffizi and the other places Rome that require it. We will be in Rome from July 13 through the 19th and spending the 16th in Florence. It's about 3 weeks away and I have NO tickets or reservations. I'm starting to panic. HELP!!! PLEASE How much should I expect to pay at this point. I've gone on websites and it seems that they all charge outrageous commission fees. Where do I go to get them for what Rick states in his Florence and Rome books?

We have found that the hotels we are staying at will make the reservations for us especially in Florence where it is a bit more critical.

In Florence, you only really need reservations for the Accademia and Uffizi. All others, you can usually just walk up, buy your ticket and go in.

Have you tried the offical museum ticket site? I'm looking at reservations for 7/16 and there are time slots available. CLICK HERE to see the site. Click on the desired museum and begin the buying process. A calendar will come up during the process. On the left side, click on July and the July calendar will come up.

Lisa,
I called the English Number for reservations for the Uffizi and Academia. (011-39-055-294-883) The price is the same for on-line and over the phone. (4 euro surcharge per ticket) I could never get the on-line option to work and I got better times than what was offered on-line. I called first thing in the morning(our time). In Rome, we are using Angel Tours.
Good Luck!
