res'v to see the Last Supper

There are no reservations left on the day we want to go (May 23) according to the cenacolovinciano website but there are available times according to the tickitaly one. The problem is through this third party source they are twice as much. Would I get the cheaper price by calling? Would there even be spots available if I called since the main website says they are sold out?

Some people here have gotten results by calling. Call during business hours Italy time. The number is in Rick's Italy book, or you can find it here (probably) by using Google Advanced Search. If all else fails, the Last Supper is worth it at twice the regular price :)

Kent makes some good suggestions. Let me add one more... If you're staying at a hotel with a concierge, get them to call. Send them an email and give them the times/dates you're available. These guys usually have "more pull" than just you calling.

Last time we went to Milan, we got a reservation about 5 days out using this method, even though when I called they said they were "fully booked." I tipped the concierge probably more than the tickets cost but it was worth it to us!

When I went to Italy I tried booking Last Supper reservations online, but it said all the slots were filled for the days I could go. So I made the long distance call and they had plenty of options available. They don't seem to update the website. I'm sure whatever the phone call costs you will be less than the charge from the 2nd party ticket seller.

And don't let the price deter you....I've seen some of the greatest works of art in Europe and several Da Vincis, but The Last Supper is by far one of the best! I thought 15 minutes would be plenty, but it's not at all, the frescoe is just amazing, even with the poor state its in.

Thank you for your suggestions. I agree, I would pay four times the asked price if that was the norm. I just don't want to get taken for any more money then I know I will, being a first time trip planner.

I emailed the hotel we are staying at to see if they could help but its a pretty small place so I don't know if they will be able to get reservations. If not, I will just call. And if all else fails, then I pay a little more online. I know it will be worth it :-)

5/23/09 seems like a busy weekend in Milan. I tried to get last supper ticket for 5/24, even through tickitaly there is none available. I had to book the tour instead.

On tickitaly website, ticket availability is not in real time. They will only check ticket availability until you submit the order. So book early if you can.
