Requesting monetary compensation for late Italo train

Hi everyone,

Our train from Florence to Venice was delayed more than 120 minutes and were given vouchers worth 45 EUR. However, when I tried to request monetary compensation instead on Italo's site, they asked for a tax code/vat number/vat number CEE and the SWIFT code of my bank account. I'd rather not receive the compensation via wire as my bank charges $16 for incoming transfers. Does anyone know if Italo could credit the amount bank to my credit card I originally used when purchasing the tickets?

This is directly from the Italotreno page:

What do I need to do to organise compensation or a refund if my train is delayed or cancelled?
Compensation is automatically paid to you within 30 days.
In order to ensure you receive it as quickly as possible, it will be paid via a voucher, Italo credit or, if you are a member of our Italo Più programme, via your Borsellino Italo.
To check if your refund has been paid, simply go to the Self Service area of our website which you’ll find on the Support page. If you have a voucher, click on "Compensation Search" otherwise select "Check Your Italo Credit".
To check if it has been credited to your Borsellino Italo, log in with your user name and password and go to your Account Page.

nowhere on their website does it state they will credit your credit card.

Even paying your bank's fee, you come out ahead. May be the only way to go.

Other option is to find a bank that doesn't charge for inbound wires. Open a temporary account with them (not telling them it will be only temporary as they may not like that and refuse to open it). Close this account after the funds clear. Capital One 360 offers an account that appears to have no fees for transfers (I have never been charged a fee on my account).
