My wife & I are planning a several week road trip through the regions of Marche, Abruzzo & Puglia next year. Without burdening you with a multitude of questions at this time, I am looking for some general resources for visiting these areas. We are interested in historic villages, local attractions & (mostly) the people & their culture. Any resources & personal recommendation that you can suggest would be truly appreciated. Thank you so much.
From south to north linked below are the official tourism portals of the Regions along the Central and Southern Adriatic Coast.
You forgot the small Region of Molise. You probably forgot it because the Region of Molise actually doesn’t exist. 😅. So I added it for you.

Thank you for providing the links. I really appreciate it.
We used the Lonely Planet’s Umbria and Le Marche guide for our first trip to Marche.
We’ve ended up returning several times. A couple of places we particularly enjoy are Locanda le Logge in Urbisaglia (a wonderful inn withrestaurant) and Castello di Monterado (an exceptional renovated estate with beautiful rooms, views and breakfast), both are in small villages.
Becky: Thank you for the recommendations. I will follow up.
We loved Agnone in Molise! Toured the bell factory and enjoyed the regional cheese, Caciocavallo di Agnone. Also took a tour of the cheese factory. My husband ended up doing a mini photo shoot of their cheese, while I talked professional Italian mens tennis with the owners. Our hotel was perched with a view overlooking the valley, so we parked the car and walked around the town for a few days. Felt like a local!
Check out "Orange Flag" towns in Italy. These smaller towns go out of their way to attract tourists. When we travel to an unknown region and ponder where to stay, we check out Orange Flag towns. That's how we found Agnone and have very fond memories.

This is a lovely, small agriturismo about a half-hour's drive from Termoli, in Molise. They serve dinners and breakfast and I would recommend:
