Just a few weeks to go until our family trip to Italy and were very excited. We will be there Sunday 2 June which I gather is Republic Day. Is there anything to be aware of for this day? Will resyptaurants be closed or more busy? For example? Do people flock to sites or are there festivals? We are staying in a villa about 10 minutes outside of Castiglione in Umbria.
It won’t be any different than any other Sunday.
If you were in Rome, you could see soldiers in camouflage at the annual military parade and the Frecce Tricolori (tricolored arrows), the Italian equivalent of the Blue Angels.
In Castiglione the only people in camouflage will be duck hunters on the wetlands of lake Trasimeno.
Thanks, I'll remember to leave my duck hat at home in that case!
If you can "see" soldiers in camouflage I guess the camouflage is not working
