After being horrified that I got stuck with a Priceline bid on a hotel in Rome, I said that I'd report back with a review. It was the Hotel Morgana near the Termini....it was great!! Ritz Carlton, no.. but it was actually really charming and we ended up loving that it was near the train station. Bottom line..I'd stay there again. Thanks again to all who assured it would be fine :)
I remember your original posting. :-) I'm so glad it turned out well. How was the rest of the trip?
The rest of the trip was wonderful. The minor glitche was that for several days in the middle of our trip we met with friends for "biking" in the Puglia region...WARNING!! Ask lot's of questions before "biking" with a group!! I thought I'd done this but was horribly misled about the level, pace, terrain, etc. This ended up being intense cycling on minor freeways with lot's of traffic. Not fun and not pretty. The upside was that riding 90k a day will get you to some incredible towns...Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, Ostuni, Lecce, Gallipoli were all incredible, truly. After the biking ended, my husband and I ended with Sorrento and Positano. A fantastic and memorable trip!
Yikes ,, 90 k a day is not recreational riding ... some friends lol
LOL, exactly! I have no idea what they were thinking. My husband suggested inviting them along for a nice, relaxing weekend in the snow...helicopter skiing!!! Sheesh! A learning experience, none the less. And aside from the biking, the trip was great.
