I know it sounds as cliche as anything, but I own a Vespa in MN, I would love to rent a scooter in Italy, has anyone had any luck with this? or know the best city for this? does anyone know where we can rent? prices, anything would be helpful.

Need narrow it down, Jake, Italy is major country that covers a lot of territory and has many cities that rent Vespas just like MN has many cities that rent cars. I would avoid Rome unless you are a very skilled rider with a good health insurance policy that is accepted in Italy.

We are traveling in June 10th-22nd,
we are going to be in Rome, then Florence, then Siena, then wine county, then Chiq terra, then vennice. sorry about the spelling!
we are big wine poeple so, wine country would be ideal, just not sure that is possible.

You answer may be more obvious. Venice is out. Rome and Florence have huge traffic problems and congestion even with motorcycles. And I don't know why you would need one in either Rome or Florence. However, around CT, countryside, etc. it would make some sense for getting around. You may want to make sure you have an International Driver Permit and check with you local insurance to determine your coverage. Rentals are generally available.

Frank is right on... you really do not want to ride a scooter here in an urban area such as Rome or Florence. It's far different than riding in the States! See this post for video of driving in Itay, CLICK HERE
