Renting car in Sicily for a few days - Based in Taormina

Hi All,

My Girlfriend and I will be traveling to Rome/Taormina this October. We will be staying in Taormina for 6 nights, and thinking of renting a car for 2 days. We plan to meet up with some of my relatives, and will def need a car for that. Any tips on WHO/WHERE we can rent from. I travel extensively for work, and have used Hertz quite often - but I read the Hertz office in Taormina is not so great, with a lot of complaints. I have read California Rent Car in Taormina is pretty good (looks a bit expensive, but appears to have insurance included, or for a small fee). In US I never get the insurance, but research seems to point to getting the additional insurance for Italy.

Thoughts/Ideas? Taormina is locked in, so no need to discuss too much time there lol, and we are only looking for 2 days car for Family purposes.

You may have the best selection renting from Catania Airport (I assume that's where you're flying into or out of, so maybe you can time things in a way that makes sense as opposed to the middle of your stay in Taormina). Most things in Taormina are priced at a premium.

Thanks Agnes - yes, that is what makes most sense. Unfortunately, the days i am to meet my family are in the middle of our stay. I am ok with extra cost given this, just looking for something reliable. which seems to be the biggest challenge.
