Hello Travel World, I have noticed a trend in Palermo. When renting apartments a lot of owners want wire transfers. Is this typical? I normally only book with people who use PayPal. Thanks

Susan, PayPal is the safe and best way (after VISA), but unfortunately many people thruout the EU only accept cash. I would never wire all of the money upfront, unless you are sure that it is not a "spoof", or your travel insurance is paid-up. (We ALWAYS buy travel insurance...) I hope you have checked out apts using VRBO, Homelidays, and/or the local town website. Usually this assures your safety...but not always.
