Hey all, I just wanted to know what it takes to rent a scooter in Italy. Are there any particular licensing or insurance requirements that I should know about? I'm a 25-year old with a Canadian license if that helps. What can I expect to pay for a day's rental for a 2-person scooter? Thanks!

As a US citizen I need a driver license with a motorcycle endorsement and International Drivers Permit. Don't remember the price, maybe in the range of 30 to 50 US a day. I assume you are an experience rider who can handle a two person machine.

Ron in Rome (well nearly Rome at the moment) is your man. I assume that you have been a competent motorbike rider for some years (or that you have a suicide bent). The article that Ron wrote here is full of answers. Please watch the imbedded video to get a true picture. I'm not saying don't do it if you are experienced, just understand what's involved, ok?
