Renting a Minibus in Florence

I am going to Florence next year, and will be traveling with a group of 12-14 people.
I am considering to rent a minibus to take us to San Gimignano, Siena, Montepulciano for the day.
Can you recommend me a professional, reliable and reasonable local rental company so I can request a quote?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Fernando. PA-USA

I hope you don’t plan to drive yourself. You need a bus drivers license for anything over 8 pax.

Google: NOLEGGIO CON CONDUCENTE FIRENZE (car Hire with driver).
or also TUSCANY EXCURSIONS.
Many companies will pop up.

Most use vans (max 8 pax plus driver), but some companies like SEFIR, POGGIBUS, FLORENTIABUS, to name a few, also offer that service with larger buses. But there are many tour companies that organize daily tours to Siena and San Gimignano aboard vans or buses.

The number of people in your party is too large for one van, but may be too small for a bus. You may have to hire two vans, or use a company that use larger buses, in which case your party will take a trip with others.

Thanks so much for replying. Great information I didn’t have.
I will follow your instructions.
Have a great day!

I suggest Florentia bus, Alterini, Baspi. All very large companies with large fleets of buses.

You can't do your itinerary in a day unless you plan to spend a few minutes in each location. You'd spend most of your time in the bus getting from here to there. It's 1 1/2 hours to Montepulciano from Florence. Siena is another hour from Montepulciano. San Gimignano is another hour from Siena and then home to Florence would be an additional 1 1/2 hours. That's at least 5 hours getting from one place to another.

I suggest three options: Montepulciano in the morning and Siena in the afternoon. San Gimignano in the morning and Volterra in the afternoon. The last is Siena all day. That's still not enough.

Thanks.

I’ve already requested quotes for the companies suggested.

I also appreciated bringing to my attention about the hours that I can possibly spent just on the road.
I have been to al the places mentioned - I am planning to spend a day on each of the towns in Tuscany.
You are absolutely right. Thank you very much, guys!

Fernando, thanks for the clarification. The way you wrote it, it sounded like you wanted to do all as a day trip!

Good luck finding transportation. Sounds like a great time. I just hope you aren't the one in charge of herding the cats! ;-)

Hello Dougmac,

I am actually the one planning all. :)
I am a jewelry designer and planing to teach workshops of jewelry making in Italy.
The idea is to combine craft chic and site seeing/wine drinking.
I started gathering the quotes for the minibus. I need to find a guide for Padova/Venice.

Would you like to join us?

Fernando, sorry in advance if you have this covered, but the above statement rings alarm bells. You wrote "PA-USA", but unless you are a citizen of an EU country, you would need a work permit to work in Italy. Same as an Italian citizen would require a work permit in the USA. If you are being paid for this workshop, even if it is only accommodation and food, it counts as work.

Hello RS team,

I got a member of my staff taking care of that.
Thank you, anyway. I appreciated your advise.
