renting a car in Barri

We are two couples traveling in April. We would like to pick up a car in Bari after completing a train ride from Rome, and then dropping it off in Florence approx. 11 days later. Any suggestions??

Unless you plan to visit locations along the path between Puglia and Florence, if you plan to use the car only to see Puglia, consider returning the car in Bari and traveling to Florence by rail (or even air). It's a very long, boring and tiring 9-10 hour drive on the freeway from Bari to Florence. It never ends. By train it's 6 hours, including a layover in Rome, and would be much more relaxing. There are also non stop flights between BRI and FLR, with Vueling or Volotea I think (1h30m flight), but check with the above airlines because they may not operate that flight every day of the week or all seasons (I think Vueling operates it in Spring/Summer only).

If you buy train tickets in advance it's not that expensive and you can save about 40% over the €111 pp full price on standard class. Traveling by car from Bari to Florence would cost you about €150 in fuel and another €50 in tolls, besides rental cost and possible one way drop off fees.

I agree with returning the car in Bari instead of a having long, boring drive north,
