Wondering if it's easy to rent a car after 3 days in Cinque Terre. Next stop is Tuscany so we'll for sure need a car. Where is best place to rent? Easy to get to from Vernazza? Any suggestions of rental car companies? We'd return car at Malpensa. Thanks!
You might sign onto AutoEurope.com and see if they have cars available in the C/T. LaSpezia would probably be large enough to have a car rental. They don't give you more than the address, but I usually go online to see what brand rental car I'd be getting. Not all famous U.S. rental brands are created equal in Europe as some are franchise operations,
La Spezia is the easiest. About a 20 minute train ride from Vernazza. Then take a taxi from the train station to the car rental agency.

La Spezia is the closest, but if Lucca is on your to do list, wait and rent a car there.
Second Auto Europe, or their sister company Kemwel. Check both as prices can be different.
There are no car rental agencies in Cinque Terre. La Spezia has Avis, Hertz, Europcar with Avis the handiest to the train station. However, they are not open on weekends (!) or at lunch. Next best would be Pisa airport or Lucca as per the previous post. Note that you'll need an International Driver's Permit. In the US it's easily available from AAA. Some car rental companies will insist on it and it's required by Italian law though unevenly enforced.
