AirBnB and Booking,com have sewn up the longer term rental market in Lucca so those are your best options. If you have a local connection or wanted to move into multi-month rentals you might have some luck with a local realtor, but otherwise those are really your only viable options.

A car in Lucca would be a cumbersome burden.

Hi, I can HIGHLY recommend this AirBnB apartment (see link below). I stayed here for 6 nights in May 2022 and I still think of it with such fond memories. It is stylish, well equipped and well located. All of the finishings in the unit are of high quality. The appliances, including a modern washer and dryer are well functioning. They even provide manuals for all appliances in English should you need to consult. The TV is SMART, therefore you can stream any Netflix, Youtube programming you desire using your personal account. They also provide 2 bikes for free that are kept in the lobby. Storage for clothing is also ample which is often not the case in rentals. I remember thinking I could live here the rest of my life if I downsized a bit! LOL! The only slight negative is that it is on the 3rd floor so you have to be ok with that. We are no spring chickens and we managed it fine as the stairwell is gentle in slope and has a sturdy handrail.

Me again, I just remembered another Lucca rental source. Many of these places get solid reviews. I have not used them personally but I would take a look.
