I have been scouting a rental car for Italy and have rented through Sixt there before. I was comparing the price quoted for the same car class through the U.S. website and the international (Italian) website and there is a huge difference in the price of the auto with comparable coverages. Why such a difference, and can I bypass the U.S. site and book through the international site instead?

No idea. But Autoeurope usually guarantees to match better prices found elsewhere. Have you priced your rental though them?

I am wanting to rent from the Bologna train station. There is no Autoeurope location there. I am traveling with my dog, so side trips to the airport, etc. are not convenient.
