Do you think a Volkswagon t-cross is an ok size rental car for driving in Umbria. have Renault Clio already rented but we might have 4 adults and thought we might need a little largger car? Thanks
You might need to look carefully at trunk size, but otherwise I'd think it would be fine--you generally park just outside of old towns, not drive through them. Someone who is generally good at parking in a city will be fine.
You might need to look carefully at trunk size,
You also may need to think carefully about travel style. Even if your party just has carryon size bags, they will take up some room. The VW has 17 cubic feet of trunk space, about the same as a Honda Accord. I think you could get 4 carryon bags in the VW, but not much more.
4 adults need a larger car. A Clio is not large enough with luggage. The VW T.cross would be adequate but you still need to tell people not to pack huge suitcases. The cargo area is probably enough for a couple of midsize suitcases and a couple of carry on size suitcases, if you do a Google Image search after e teeing the key words “VW T Cross cargo space” you can see more or less what you can fit in the cargo hold.

Here is a review with pictures, about half way down the page, and some measurements. https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-reviews/2024-volkswagen-t-cross-review
My guestimate would be squizzy with 4 at no more than 1.7metres and 70kgs.
