We a group of 8 adults going to the Benanti Winery (recommended by Rick on one of his shows) outside Siracusa. We'll arrive by ship and need transportation, about an hour away. We will need a van large enough for 8 adults. Would it be better to rent a van or hire a driver? We don't need a tour just a driver.

If you decide to rent a car, whichever of the 8 people who will do the driving will need an Int’l Drivers Permit. The Tourist Information Office in Siracusa might be able to advise and recommend a competent driver. Try contacting. Or I wonder if the ship cruise director could offer help.
