Rental car location in Sienna and parking

Two questions - how do we get to Eurpocar rental center in Sienna from train station - taxis are hard to get - can we reserve a tax? Is parking available at Sienna train station for day trip to Florence?

There are plenty of taxis in line at the taxi stand at the station. They are white cars with the sign on top saying taxi.

It's a 5 km (3+ miles) walk otherwise. Europcar is on Viale Europa, a bit at the edges of town at the Casone. S5 bus goes there, but you need to walk to viale Cavour first.

If you rent a car, why don't you drive to Florence an park at the parking lot at Porta Romana?
It's less than an hour drive, and that way you are not bound by schedules.
The parking garage is across from the station, but if you don't want to drive, you might as well take the bus to Florence. It's faster than the train.

I've never found Taxis hard to find in Siena. If you're there now and staying at a hotel, have the staff at the front desk call one for you.

If you're going to Florence, it's easier to take the Bus from Piazza Gramsci which is right in the main part of Siena. The trip is ~1H:15M if you use a Corse Rapide Bus, and you'll be dropped very close to Fienze SMN rail station. That method avoids the trip down the hill to the rail station.

Parking info, garages etc: Was looking into this too and found Siena has an excellent website for this information. They explain how and where to get the discount for extended parking when you stay in Siena. Each parking garage is on he map, number of spaces, photo of entry for it and rates with instructions on how their system works. This should be a permanent sticky to the RS web site.

If you are basing in Siena there are several hotels inside the wall with parking. I would not drive to Florence since it is so easy to go by bus in an hour or so and then you don't have the hassle of parking. The Porta Romana lot is small and there is no guarantee there would be space on your arrival. The old lot at Piazzale Michelangelo is not longer open to car parking or so I have been told.
