My husband and I are renting a car in Florence and driving to Cortona for 6 nights in June 2025 then staying 3 nights on Giglio Island before returning to Florence for a few days then to BLQ to fly home. Currently, we plan to return the rental car immediately in Florence, but I am wondering if it makes better sense to return the car "somewhere" after we visit Termi di Saturnia and before taking the ferry to Giglio. Otherwise our car sits 3 days in Porto Stefano with no use. Is there a rental car agency in the Porto Stefano area or nearby and a means (train?) of getting to the ferry to Giglio Island, and then returning to Florence without a rental vehicle? Or maybe we drop off the car and then rent a separate car (in Grosseto?) when we leave Giglio Island. Or, is it worth is to have the freedom of a car to visit the region between Giglio and Florence, perhaps a drive up the coast? I think I read the roads might be iffy. Thanks for any ideas and suggestions
