Rental Car in Siena

Will be arriving by train early September. We have rented a villa about 8 miles outside of the city and would like to rent a car to explore . Would anyone know the closest location of rental car companies in Siena?
Thanks!

Probably the easiest would be the Hertz concession a couple of blocks away - a 10 minute walk from the station. There are others a little further away that would require a short taxi ride.
You need to verify the operating hours for any of the rental car outlets. Some close for a couple of hours over lunch, close early, or are closed completely over the weekend.
You can book a vehicle at the Hertz location thru AutoEurope which we've usually found to have the best rates and a clear explanation of the insurance options.

I agree with Robert. I use Hertz for work and prefer to use them. I also agree it is important to check hours of operation. When we went to Loches, France, we wanted to take the train from CDG to Tours and pick up the car there, but car rental offices were closed byt the time we would arrive on Saturday and all day Sunday.

When we went to Tuscany, we stayed at an agriturismo outside Greve. I think you'll love staying in a villa and using a car to explore the region. You can rent the car in Siena with no problem, but be aware of ZTG in Siena and other towns in Tuscany. They are well marked and easily avoided, but know what to look for because fines for driving in to one can be expensive. If you plans include a visit to Florence, take the train or bus from Siena. We left our car in Greve and took the bus to Florence.

I hope you have a wonderful time September will be a nice time of year to visit.

Where are you getting on the train? It may be easier to get the car there.
