Rental Car in Chiusi -- On a Sunday

My family and I are traveling from Rome to Chiusi via train and had planned to rent a car in Chiusi. We bought our train tickets but the problem is that we are traveling on a Sunday and just found out that it seems like all of the car rental companies in Chiusi are closed on Sundays. Does anyone know if there is an option to rent a car in Chiusi on a Sunday that I just did not find? Thank you in advance for your help!

Rental locations are generally closed on Sundays except for airports. Not sure why you purchased train tickets ahead of time since it's probably a Regionale but you need to change your plans and go another day. Or you could rent the car in Rome. Fiumicino locations are open every day and maybe some city locations may be open on Sun mornings as well.

Hi Roberto -- Thanks for the reply. We purchased train tickets in advance to get the super economy rate of only 9 euro a ticket for 1st class. It's an Intercity train, not Regionale. I read on another forum that some people had luck getting the rental companies to open for them for a small fee so I wanted to ask if RS travelers had any experience doing the same thing.

I don't know if you already have accommodation arrangements. Buy if you can't get a car in Chiusi that day, then on Sunday, when you get to Chiusi, proceed to Siena by train (regionale trains go there frequently), visit Siena all day Sunday and stay in Siena overnight. Then, Monday or Tuesday, pick up you rental car in Siena and do your car traveling from then. Alternatively you could go from Chiusi to Perugia or Assisi (instead of Siena). Visit either on Sunday, spend the night there, then on Monday or Tuesday, pick up the car at the Perugia airport and start your car tour from there. A car is not needed for any of the places I mentioned (Siena, Perugia, Assisi)
