Looking for advice on picking up a rental car for a few days in Tuscany. Will be arriving at FCO earlyier in the morning and plan to spend a few days in the Tuscany region a few days before making it to Florence. For those with experience would you recommend picking the car up at the airport or somewhere else like Siena or some other Tuscan town?

It's not quite in Tuscany, but are you planning on visiting Orvieto? If so, rent with Hertz, their Orvieto office is across the road from the train station. We picked up our car at the airport, drove around Tuscany, then did the drop off in Orvieto.

Both work with major companies in Italy (Hertz, Europcar, Avis-Budget).
For your trip I would pick up at Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci Airport (FCO) and return the car in Florence upon arrival (you don’t need or want a car while staying in Florence).
