Rental Car Drop off Near La Spezia Centrale?

My husband and I are planning a trip for Fall 2017 and will be flying into Rome, staying 4 nights in the Amalfi Coast. From there our plan is to go to Salerno (via ferry) and rent a car to drive to La Spezia. We will be stopping for a couple of nights somewhere along the way (any suggestions on a city to spend a couple of nights in?). My main question is this:

Is there a rental car drop within walking distance (we will have luggage) to the La Spezia Centrale? If so, is there a company you recommend that allows for pick up in Salerno and drop off in La Spezia?

We will then be hopping on a train and heading to the Cinque Terre for 3 nights and then training to Florence to end our trip (Probably a 12 day trip, not including two travel days).

A few companies appear to serve both locations, per Google Maps, including Hertz and Europcar. Try the US agent www.autoeurope.com for booking and if you don't find the results you want online , then call them for personal service.

The car rental offices in La Spezia are located near the port (to cater to cruise ship travelers). The station (La Spezia Centrale) is too far to walk with luggage. Once you return the car, ask the rental car agent to call a taxi for you. The taxi will take you to the station, which is no more than 10 minutes away.
The Avis-Budget office is not too far to walk from the station (although it depends on the amount of luggage you have). However, since in my experience renting many times in Italy, I always found that Avis is more expensive, I think you are better off with Europcar then the taxi to the station.
