We will have 19 days in Italy in September and have rented a car from AutoEurope for 10 days because we have rented an apartment in northern Tuscany for a week. We arranged to return the car at the Fiumicino. How difficult will this be. I've been reading posts and have gotten so many good hints but nothing much about the airport return. Thanks
Returning a rental car at Rome FCO airport is relatively easy. If you are driving south from Tuscany toward Rome, you will probably bypass Rome by entering the A-90 "ring road". Exit this ring road in the direction of Fiumicino, Di Vinci aiport. Then, just follow the picture of the plane all the way to the airport. Car rental companies are located in the multi-story parking garages right in front of the airport - follow the signs for your particular company.
Thanks, the return should be easier than I thought. We will drop off the car, than take the Leonardo Express into Rome. We arrive there on a Sunday so hope to do the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Capitoline Museum that day.
