We are flying into Rome and booked a rental car with arguscarhire.com. Has anyone ever dealt with this company? After making the reservation, we never received a confirmation email although we can log into the website and we see our reservation there, and credit card was charged. I'm starting to wonder about this company because we got a car for 7 days for $106 and that just seems too good to be true.

The reviews I see on line are not good. Some are really bad. Generally however it is because of unexpected extra charges and penalties that are added to the total (like mileage, cancellation penalties, insurance etc.).
At a minimum you will need to have a confirmation documentation because arguscarhire is not a car rental company, but an online aggregator, like Carrentals.com. Therefore you will need some proof for the actual rental company, that you actually purchased this contract through this broker.
