Are there any property management agencies for properties in Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice)? We had apartments for our trip to London and Paris a few weeks ago, and it worked out great- with 4 of us, it helped give us extra space without the extra cost. I've been looking at rentals on trip advisor and VRBO....but I still feel like I would feel a little more comfortable with a professional manager overseeing the rentals. If not, any tips that you've found for using VRBO, Air BnB successfully?
I usually use VRBO or Booking, com and have had no problems to speak of. I did use https://www.romeapartments.com/ once a few years ago, but found them thru VRBO.
homeaway, vrbo are basically the same company, 2 different names. when you look at the properties it will tell you if an agent is who you will be dealing with. Honestly, in 13 years of booking through vrbo I only had one bad experience (apartment was on 2nd fl not 1st fl as advertised - but the apartment was beautiful and no I did not go back there). I've never tried airbnb but have heard mixed reviews.
I got a little spooked when we were looking at a place on AirBnb for an upcoming trip to San Diego- we were down to a couple that we really liked, both with tons of positive reviews, and one of them just disappeared. I don't know that it was for any shady reason, but that was the first thought I had...and I tend to be a worrier. So the more safety nets in place, the better!

Yep, I'd take a look at what's available on booking.com. I use that site a lot for our accommodations in Europe. Have only booked one flat so far but it worked just fine.
