i have just a couple of days to just relax in one town away from the heat and bustle of rome. any suggestions for a train connection no more than an hour away

What time of year are you visiting? I would suggest Orvieto for a great Umbrian hilltop town or Sperlonga for a fabulous beach.

I hope to spend a day in Ostia Antica to see the ruins. The guidebook tells you how to get there, and it is on the ocean.

We were at Ostia in 2004. Altho it is relatively ez to get to and well worth it, we dont remember it as being a seaside.

second the suggestion for Orvieto. Next time I go to Italy I'm going to spend a nite there.
