Regionale Veloce trains in Italy

How far in advance can Regionale Veloce train tickets be purchased? I have found the schedule and routes online, but get a message that the tickets are not available at this time. We will be traveling in September.
Thank you

Normally tickets for Regionale trains are only offered online seven days in advance. There's no reason to buy them in advance, as there's no price breaks and no pre-reserved seats. I'd suggest buying tickets for those trains at local stations, either from automated Kiosks or staffed ticket windows (I like to buy the day prior to travel so that I don't have to stop when I'm hauling luggage).

One important point to mention - you MUST validate Regionale tickets prior to boarding the train on the day of travel, or risk hefty fines which will be collected on the spot!

Regionale Veloce trains follow the same ticketing rules as other Regionale trains. The only difference is the number of stations at which they call - the Veloce is faster because it stops less. The actual train equipment may be "better" at either level, different routes are allocated different equipment.

No reason to buy them in advance. There's often a third option to purchase them, in addition to the machines and the ticket window - usually the newspaper/magazine vendor in the train stations also sells Regionale tickets. Don't forget YOU MUST VALIDATE THESE BEFORE YOU GET ON THE TRAIN.

Another tip for Regionales - if the air conditioning isn't working in one particular coach, try another one.
