Region With the Lowest Cost of Living

Hi - my sister and I are having a discussion and can't seem to find an answer. Based on your travel experience, what region, or specifically, what city has the lowest cost of living in Italy? I have read that northern regions are generally higher than southern regions, so it should be cheaper to live in say, Naples than to live in Venice. But I just wanted to get your opinion. Thanks!

Yes, this is true. We traveled for a month in the far south (Puglia, Basilicata, Campania) for what we would spend for three weeks in the north.

From my experience it seems Sicily is about the cheapest with Puglia about the same or slighly higher.
